I took the BMW off the road for a little while at least and got the Golf registered and insured and drove it for the first time. They are rather different. For one the VW has a sensible normal ride hight and properly functioning heat. On the other hand the shifter throw is a mile long and the interior contains some of the worst quality plastics I have even had in a car (knobs that fall off and broken clips that hold buttons in...). On the other hand the VW runs on regular gas and should get much better milage. I like having a sensible car and the VW should be a great winter car/commuter car but after only one drive I cannot wait for the salt to clear and have the BMW back to its best again.

Just wait until the paint (or whatever it is) starts peeling off your trim. That'll be fun
